Bauprojektgesellschaft Ludwigshafen mbH (BPG), a subsidiary of the city of Ludwigshafen, was commissioned by the city administration to carry out inner-city infrastructure projects. These projects include the new construction of the Pilzhochstraße, which was demolished in 2020, the modernization of the Weiße Hochstraße and the construction of the approximately 2 km long city road as a replacement for the Hochstraße Nord.

Elevated road system in Ludwigshafen

A pioneering infrastructure project

The project aims to adapt the elevated road system to current and future transport infrastructure requirements and is characterized by high complexity, extensive planning and coordination. The main focus is on reducing noise pollution for residents, improving road safety and promoting sustainable mobility, while also integrating new cycle paths to promote environmentally friendly mobility. Work on the south elevated road is expected to continue until the end of 2025, with traffic opening at the beginning of 2026. This measure positions the project as groundbreaking in terms of environmental protection and sustainability.
